The Center for Agribusiness and Economic Development in partnership with Daymon Worldwide are happy to announce the creation of a new program to promote Georgia food products.  The Flavor of Georgia program encourages all Georgia food producers to submit their food products to Daymon Worldwide for evaluation and potential inclusion into Costco Wholesale, operating 430 locations in 9 countries.  Daymon Worldwide and Costco Wholesale are committed to supporting local producers and processors and are interested in tasting what Georgia has to offer.  Daymon Worldwide is a full-service sales and marketing company specializing in food products across a wide range of product categories.  They work with some of the leading retail, wholesale and food service companies across the U.S. and on five continents.

This is a unique opportunity for Georgia’ food processors and manufacturers. The program requires interested people to send Daymon Worldwide a sample of their product, complete a product entry form (http://www.agecon.uga.edu/~caed/flavor.htm), and include any marketing and company material that is available. Participants are asked to submit their products, completed form, supporting material and $15 registration fee no later than Wednesday, June 30th 2004.   The Center for Agribusiness along with Daymon Worldwide will review each of the submitted products to determine how they might work in a mass merchandising environment. Daymon will then contact the producers they feel have viable products and invite them into the Southeastern Corporate Office where they can make a formal product presentation to Daymon Executives.  Selected individuals will be notified no later than July 14th as to their status.

There is a strong interest in Deli, Refrigerated, Frozen, and Dry Grocery items.

The following required material should be submitted to Daymon no later than June 30th, 2004:

  1. Sample of product to include retail packaging
  2. Product Entry Form
  3. Description of their current manufacturing/processing capabilities
  4. Ability to supply pallet quantities if product is accepted.
