2003 Young Couples Conference

50 couples from Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina participated in the event this year.  We again went to Myrtle Beach for the meeting and everyone learned a lot and had a good time to boot.  Please click here for more on the conference.

October 2003 is Cooperative Month

The Georgia Cooperative Council, in coordination with USDA Rural Business and Cooperative Service was able to work with Gov. Perdue on proclaiming October as "Cooperative Month" in  Georgia.  The Governor signed a proclamation endorsing his support for the cooperative way of doing business and extolling the benefits of cooperative membership for each Georgia resident.

2002 Youth Conference

2002 GA Co-op Council Annual Meeting

The 34th annual meeting was held in Macon, Georgia, on March 4, 2002.  Approximately 75 people were in attendance.  To read and see more about the event, please click here.


2001 Young Couples Conference

The annual Young Couples Conference was held in Myrtle Beach, SC, and was attended by 35 couples.  A varied program gave the couples an overview of cooperatives and how they impact their local communities.  For more on the conference, click here.

Cooperative Month - October 2001

On Wednesday, September 19, 2001, Governor Roy Barnes signed a proclamation declaring October as "Cooperative Month" in Georgia.  Bill Verner, GA Co-op Council President, and Craig Scroggs, USDA Rural Development Cooperative Development Specialist and GA Co-op Council member, attended the ceremony at the State Capital.  Gov. Barnes is familiar with the cooperative movement in Georgia and has funded several initiatives to assist cooperative development within the state over the past year.

2001 Annual Meeting

The 2001 Annual Meeting of the Georgia Co-op Council was held on March 5, 2001, in Macon, Georgia, at the Georgia Farm Bureau building.  The meeting began at 10:00 a.m. and concluded at approximately 1:00 p.m.  To see more from the event, please click here.


COOPERATIVE MONTH - OCTOBER 2000

The Georgia Cooperative Council is happy to announce that October has been officially designated as Cooperative Month by Governor Roy Barnes.  A Proclamation was signed by the Governor exclaiming the virtues of the cooperative way of doing business and their economic impact on the state of Georgia.

The Co-op Council worked with the Governor's office to have this proclamation made.  It is hoped that next year's event will celebrate the many new cooperative ventures  now being discussed.
