David Denham

David Denham, a third year agricultural economics major from Tifton, Georgia, helped his Georgia men's golf team win the 2004 SEC Championship in April 2004. David tied for fifth at 1-over 211. The fourth-ranked Bulldogs finished at 3-over 843, one shot better than top-ranked Florida. The league title was Georgia's 25th, the most of any team in the conference.

During David's sophomore year at UGA, he was Georgia's top finisher in three events, including the final two tournaments of the year. He was named Second-Team All-SEC in voting by the league's coaches, named Honorable Mention All-America, and tied for 12th at the NCAA Championships, firing a 296 and missing the top 10 by only a stroke. Overall, he had five top-10 finishes and seven top-20 efforts and had a scoring average of 72.15, ranking second on the team.

When David was a freshman, he played for Georgia State, seeing action in seven tournaments. His best finish was placing 22nd in the Mason Rudolph Championships. He averaged 73.81 with a low of 69.

David graduated from Tift County High School and was four-time Most Valuable Player for Tift County. He won the 2001 Blue Devil Invitational, shooting a 68 and finished second at the 2001 Demon Invitational with a 71.

David plans to pursue a professional golfing career, but if that doesn't work out, he wants to be a golf course architect and design golf courses. In his leisure time when he isn't playing golf, David enjoys hunting, fishing, watching movies and playing guitar.

 

 

Kathryn Hulst

Kathryn Hulst, a fourth year agribusiness major from Brooklet, Georgia, was inducted into AGHON during the spring semester. AGHON is the highest honor for students in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Kathryn serves as the standards chair of Sigma Alpha and secretary of the Agricultural and Environmental Economics Club. She is a member of Block and Bridle and the Baptist Student Union.

In her leisure time, Kathryn enjoys spending time with family and friends and spending time outdoors. After college graduation, she plans to attend graduate school.


 

 

Jonathan VanDerZee

Jonathan VanDerZee is a fourth year Environmental Economics and Management major from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He has been on the Dean's list twice, a Presidential Scholar four times and is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. He is also a staff member of WOUG 90.5 FM and a member of the Georgia Outdoor Recreation Program.

After graduation, Jonathan is considering joining the Peace Corps or possibly going to graduate school. He would eventually like to establish his career with an environmental consulting firm, a governmental agency, or pursue a more science oriented career path.Jonathan enjoys being outdoors. He participated in the Sandy Creek Eco-challenge in April 2004. He does a lot of hiking and has been to Australia and New Zealand to pursue this hobby. He also enjoys surfing and playing guitar, both of which he has been doing for about eight years.
