Post Doctoral Associate -
Production and Farm Management
RESPONSIBILITIES: This appointment is 100% research in
production
and farm management with emphasis on production economics and farm
management.
The candidate will work with departmental faculties, as well as Dr. Bob
Taylor,
Auburn University, on research relating to the economics of peanut
production.
Major focuses will be to assemble a cost-of-production database,
evaluate
peanut production efficiency using relevant econometric and/or math
programming
analyses, develop representative peanut farms for the southeastern
states,
whole-farm modeling, and publication of results. The position is
grant
funded for a period of twenty-four (24) months with possible
continuation.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. (awarded and/or certification of all
requirements
completed) in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Business, or related
field.
SALARY: Salary is competitive and commensurate with training and
experience.

Agricultural Risk Management
GENERAL NATURE: Post Doctoral Associate.
Full-time(100% research), non-tenure track position. Employment
will be for a period of 18 months.

Job Duties:

A research position focusing on agricultural risk
management. Primary responsibilities relate to a federally funded
research project that will examine the feasibility of managing yield
risk on selected agricultural commodities and in selected regions using
weather-based (precipitation,
temperature, etc.) insurance products. |
| Qualifications:
|
Ph.D. in agricultural economics, economics, finance or
a related field. Knowledge of crop insurance and other
agricultural risk management tools is desirable but not required.
Strong quantitative and data management skills are necessary. |
