2005 Young Couples Conference
The 2005 conference was held in Myrtle Beach, SC, from Nov. 11-13, 2005. 38 couples from Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina along with numerous sponsors attended the meeting. The couples heard presentations from several different co-ops including; Farm Credit Service, Electric Co-ops, Telephone Co-ops and Dairy Farmers of America.
The weekend started at the registration desk where each couple received their information about the weekend. Friday night started with a wonderful seafood buffet dinner and then some get acquainted games. Saturday morning was spent learning about the basics of a cooperative and then hearing from the various co-ops who were there. Saturday afternoon allowed some free time and then Saturday night was spent eating out and going to the House of Blues. Sunday morning started with a devotion then the couples were asked to get into groups and make decisions much like a real Board of Directors would have to do on a Board Stumper that were given the previous day. Evaluations, door prizes, and a closing pictorial presentation finished up the event. From all indications, the event was enjoyed by all who attended.
