"INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS:  THE NEW FRONTIER FOR THE ACADEMY"

In recent years the academic institutions, in large part as a response to the increase in corporate globalization, the development of the world-wide web, and the creation of cross-national political unions, have been creating and/or expanding their international programs.  Offering courses in international studies, developing student and faculty exchange programs, and establishing research links with foreign institutions has become an imperative.

During this session a panel representing the various stakeholders - including faculty, administrators, students, and potential employers - will examine the ways in which international programs can be developed, implemented, staffed, and funded. The panel also will consider various criteria appropriate for reviewing and evaluating the programs to ensure academic quality and integrity.
